The book was supposed to be in new condition, but it was obviously not new. For the price, I'm not suprised. I glued the binding back together and it's been working well enough. It didn't really help me for the tests because our test questions were complex and difficult and I felt like the questions in this book were not. If you are having a hard time grasping the content in the text then this book might help but if you feel like you understand the text then this book my be unnecessary.
